Well just looky here - the Cockerill has laid some (Cadbury's) creme eggs.....how did that happen I wonder?? ...
Back to the job in hand... most of you will recognise Dave, this years deserved winner, from either Training or Fleet racing. Well done Dave for winning this event.
A cloudy overcast and chilly start greeted all of us, but was soon replaced with a decent breeze, some nice warm sunny periods and good water level which made for some great close racing.
An early victim of circumstance was Tom Lance, his errant keel bulb snaring the 'dirty brown buoy's ' anchor line.
His boat rendered stationary, all Tom could do was wait and watch until the race finished, allowing rescue.
Tom's fortunes improved along with the weather whilst the racing remained close In trueDF95 fashion.
Notable was Steve Cockerill for his third place finish in his brand new, bever before sailed DF, which was still being completed 10 minutes before the race b briefing.
In the end just six points separated the top three finishers who battled it out in the sometimes quite changeable wind directions.....but that's part of the fun.
Another great event - thanks to the race team and entrants for making it so.
