IOM Vancouver Cup / DF 95 De Quincey Cup

In years gone by, well last year (and previous ones as well) the jolly chaps at Emsworth went forth from their splendid surroundings into the unknowns of Eastbourne (similar demographics) and the Royal Gardens of Kensington palace to seek their fortunes.

In spite of returning without any Silver on each occasion, the skippers who went enjoyed themselves immensely.

Eastbourne was noticeable for questionable mishaps various,

whilst Kensington - well some say that concentration was disrupted by the passing attractions of one of the most photographed birds on a sunny spring day in a beautiful London park.

But I digress.

The point is that both these events are worthwhile experiences and to miss them is to forgo a great social pleasure with members of our club along with the kudos of bringing back gold (actually the cups are silver) for the club.

(That shouldn't be misinterpreted as melting down the silverware for scrap value - this is not a Blenheim style heist ).
